The High Peace Council Women’s Committee in cooperation with the Afghan Civil Society has launched a campaign called “Afghan Women’s Call for Peace and Ceasefire”. This country-wide campaign encourages Afghan women to raise their voice for peace and call for an end to violence. We believe this is a critical time before the elections to start a movement to unify Afghan women in their communities to speak as one. The campaign will run for 30 days with the aim to widely circulate the call for peace and to collect signatures of women from all walks of Afghan life.
This message is meant to be a genuine and inclusive call for peace which is accepted and acknowledged for people on all sides of the conflict. It is an appeal and offer to the Afghan Government, the armed opposition groups and the International Community to search for common ground as a basis for a peaceful settlement.
Please find attached the message in Dari, Pashto and English. The call for peace is also published on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/pages/Afghan-Womens-Call-for-Peace-and-Ceasefire/621381561248443.
Please support this campaign by circulating and signing the call for peace.
