Afghan Professionals Network, a global volunteer network of leading Afghan professionals, has announced the launch of a new mentorship programme as a key initiative for 2016. The mentoring programme – the first of its kind for APn – will target students aged 18+, coordinating them with successful professionals in their chosen areas of interest. In connecting Afghan youth to relevant role models in their community, APn aims to encourage students to take interest in, and ownership of, their future careers and to provide them a positive, risk-free environment within which to develop.
Although mentees will be sourced exclusively from the Afghan community, mentors from all backgrounds and industries are welcome. This is an exciting chance to make a difference in a young person’s life: your impact could make all the difference!
We also encourage students 18+ and young professionals to seek a mentor in their chosen field as there are countless benefits including guidance on professional development and advancement. According to Mentorship .org, a person that had a mentor is 130% more likely to hold leadership positions.
Please visit the APn website and fill out the electronic application (both mentors and mentees) if you are interested in participating.
We believe in investing in our future and we ask you to come along!
Could you make a difference?
